The Three Lakes Route

The Three Lakes Route is a medium-duty Nordic walking tour that covers a length of approx. 10 Leads kilometers through the car-free Faulenbach valley, which offers natural enjoyment at its finest. As the name of the tour suggests, it passes three picturesque lakes on the way.

The gentle endurance sport Nordic Walking is really an excellent holiday activity, because the fast walking with two sticks is good for health, helps to reduce stress and also ensures that you get to know the area. Since the full body training from Finland is also suitable for almost every age group, there are hardly any excuses not to go out and do something good. A very nice Nordic walking tour around Füssen is the approx. 10 Kilometer-long three-lake route through the natural jewel Faulenbacher valley. Due to the length and some crisp climbs, it is classified as medium heavy, so it is more suitable for experienced followers of Nordic walking. But they really get their money's worth and can look forward to great holiday impressions. Start and finish point is the car park opposite the mini golf course in Bad Faulenbach. The car park is at the end of the Alatseestraße.

You start on the Alatseestraße in a northerly direction and after a few hundred meters turn left into the road “Am Kobel”. Subsequently, it goes on the Lower Kobelweg through the beautiful Faulenbach valley to the mysterious Alatsee. The Faulenbacher valley is a green oasis that guarantees the best relaxation conditions. A soothing air, the silence in the car-free valley and many natural beauties such as pretty mountainside forests and colorful flower meadows make walking here a pleasure for the senses. The Alatsee, which may already be known to some from a successful Allgäu crime, has a very mysterious character. The many legends that the locals Tell about the lake, report e.g. of mythical creatures on the shores or a valuable gold treasure from the Third Reich on the bottom of the lake. Actually, however, the water is only a pretty mountain lake, which invites you to relax and dream.

They circle the Alatsee counterclockwise and are on the recently created exciting bird trail. On the basis of several interactive showcases, the most interesting native bird species are presented here on the shore. Some resting benches invite you to a break in between, where you can let the idyllic landscape affect you. From the Alatsee the tour continues on the former trim path to the Ober- and Mittersee. On the Obersee there is a Kneipp spa, which makes it possible to cool your feet and enjoy wellness in harmony with nature. In summer, however, you can also jump completely into the refreshing water, because on the upper and Mittersee there are natural baths with lying meadows, changing rooms, swimming piers and marked non-swimmer areas. 

After this charming tour, which offers wonderful landscape impressions, a visit to the mini golf course is still possible.
