It there anything nicer than to sit in an cosy alpine hut after a hike and enjoy a good meal and cold shanty beer?

Our Top-5 alp huts from easy to challenging:

1. Drehhutte
Easy to medium hike along a tared road. Cosy alpine hut with playground. Possibility to hike also to the hut "Rohrkopfhutte". In winter time it is perfect to rent a sledge at the reception!
Time to walk to the hut: 1 hour; to the hut Rohrkopfhutte another 50 minutes
Tour: Drive to Schwangau (5km) and follow the road. 2km after the village turn right to the parking place of the Drehhutte where you start your tour.

2. Salober Alm (1150m)
Short but steep hike tot he alpine hut Salober Alm. Very friendly owners. There is a loop way around the hut (30 minutes) and possibilites for various other hikes. Playground for kids.
Time to hike tot he hut: 40 minutes from the parking place at the lake Alatsee.
Tour: Drive in direction of the village See. Just before the lake "Weissensee" turn left and follow the signs to Alatsee/ Salober Alm. Follow the way up to the lake Alatsee from where you start your tour.

3. Gundhütte (1180m)
Easy to medium hike tot he alpine hut Gundhütte. Continiously events with live music. You can feel the authentic lived Bavarian tradition. There is a wonderful loop walk to another hut called Hündleskopfhütte and back to the Gundhutte (2,5hours).
Time to walk to the hut: 1 ¼ hours
Tour: Drive with your car to Pfronten-Ried and fron there to Rofleuten (15km). Opposite the fire station is the parking place for the Gundhutte. Please follow the signs for the right way.

4. Durrenbergalm (1438m)
The alpine hut Durrenbergalm in Tirol/Austria is situated southside. Especially in spring and fall when there is snow in the mountains this tour is recommendable. You will have an awesome view to the valley Lechtal and the surrounding alps. The hike up with about 500 meters up is easy and the way is graveled.
Time to walk tot he hut: 1 ¼ hours
Tour: Take your car and drive through the channel to Austria. Follow the road until the restaurant Urisee (15km), where you park your car on the right side oft he road. A underbridge will lead you tot he other side.

5. Bad Kissinger Hutte (1788m)
A medium hike to a real alpine hut with a great view. You will need a little experience of walking well-worn paths, but it is worth it. In another 30 minutes you will reach the summit of the mountain Aggenstein.
Time to walk to thehut: 2 hours
Tour: Drive to Pfronten and from there to Gran in Austria/Tirol (20km). Directly at the left side of the road is the parking place for the Bad Kissinger Hutte. Again, please follow the signs.
