The Südliches-Ostallgäu-Rennradtour

Overlooking the Alpine chain, cyclists ride along tranquil Allgäu villages, green meadows and several bathing lakes that invite a welcome cooling on warm days. Slight to medium climbs provide enough variety and during the brisk downhills you can simply roll the bike and enjoy the landscape with all your senses. The tour runs mostly on quiet side roads, only between Rosshaupten and Seeg is occasionally expected with higher traffic volumes. The starting point and destination for the Südliches-Ostallgäu-Runde is the Füssener Tourist Information. Those who arrive by car will find several parking possibilities in Füssen, including in the car park P5 “City/ Sparkasse”, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Tourist Information. The perfect time frame for this road bike tour is from April to September, when the weather is good and the Allgäuer Pre-Alpine landscape is particularly attractive.

After the road cyclists have swung on their bike at the Tourist Information in Füssen, they first drive over the Lech Bridge and Altenschrofen to Hohenschwangau to the foot of the world-famous royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. On remote side roads, the tour continues northward, past the beautiful Bannwaldsee, until Halblech. As a result, the cyclists pass numerous picturesque Allgäu villages and drive along beautifully green meadows in summer until they cross the Lech at Lechbruck and follow the shores of the Lechstausee Urspring for a while.
