The King's Loop

The king's loop is an approx. 13 Kilometer long cross-border hike that leads past some of the most beautiful and famous sights of the Allgäuer Königswinkel. Since the tour manages without any significant climbs and has many varied impressions to offer, it is also excellent for families with older children.

Hiking fun, nature enjoyment and sightseeing – the so-called Königsschleife guarantees Füssen holidaymakers a successful excursion with many great impressions and lots of fun. The approx. 13 Kilometer-long tour that passes by places and sights that are closely related to the Bavarian royal family around Ludwig II. It starts in the small village of Pinswang in Tyrol and takes about three and a half hours. Even older children can easily master this hike, which does not have strenuous climbs, and will have their fun on the way. The starting point is the Gutshof zur Schluxen in Unterpinswang. From Füssen you can reach in a few minutes by car via the B17 there.

They leave at the manor, where Ludwig II and his parents Queen Marie and King Maximilian II. used to be guests, and follow the hiking trail in a northerly direction up the mountain. In the further course you can reach the Schwanseepark via the Fischersteig, the former royal Hohenschwangau Palace Park, which inspires with a species-rich flora and faune. From here, the route continues on to the Füssener Kalvarienberg, on the summit of which there is an observation platform that offers a fantastic panoramic view of the vast pre-Alpine region and the old town of Füssen. Behind you is a highly varied hike with famous sights and attractions such as the Lechfall on the roadside.
