From Füssen to the mountain pass Hahntennjoch

The 110,9 Kilometer long road bike tour from Füssen to the mountain pass Hahntennjoch in Austria leads through the beautiful Lechtal and inspires with pure pass feeling and a breathtaking Alpine panorama. The one presented here 110,9 Kilometer long tour from Füssen to the Hahntennjoch is a pass classic for road cyclists with a good condition. It leads through the wild romantic Lechtal and then steeply up to the 1894 Meter high mountain pass Hahntennjoch. On the way, the road cyclists have beautiful nature impressions and far-sighted views over green meadows and forests. Starting point of this exciting tour, for which at least 5 Hours should be scheduled, is the Füssener Tourist Information. Who is with the car in the Allgäu holiday, can do this for example in the free parking lot „P1 – “Festival place” in the Kemptener Straße, which is only around 5 A walking distance from Tourist Information. From the Füssener railway and bus station it is only 2 Minutes walk to the starting point. Since this route is also used by motorcyclists on weekends, road cyclists should preferably complete it during the week. The ideal period for the tour is from April to September.

The Hahntennjoch tour starts at first quite comfortably and leads the road cyclists from the Füssener Tourist Info over the Lech Bridge into the district of Ziegelwies, and further over the Ulrichsbrücke and the Kniepass to the small village of Pflach. Unterlastzen and Oberlastzen are further way stations before the cyclists drive up to Elmen at Lechaschau on the Lechtalstraße. The Lechtal inspires with one of the last European wild river landscapes and a great Alpine panorama. From Elmen there is a first steep climb before the tour between Bschlabs and Boden runs a bit more moderately. From the ground and via Pafflar, one of the oldest high settlements in Tyrol, it goes Then, uphill to the mountain. 1894 metres. The track is characterized by numerous serpentines and changing landscape formations. Sports ambition is a prerequisite for climbing the Hahntennjoch, from which a dream view of the upper Inntal and the Tyrolean Lechtal offers.

After the strenuous climb is the enjoyable downhill, where you can roll the bike wonderfully to enjoy the magnificent views and nature impressions. The return journey initially runs on the same route as the outward journey. At Weißenbach, however, it then turns right to reach Pflach again via Rieden, Ehenbichl and Reutte. Afterwards, the racing cyclists drive via Brandstatt, Musau and the Ulrichsbrücke to Füssen-Ziegelwies. Via the Lechhalde they finally reach the starting point of the tour again. An alternative, but with a high traffic volume, is the departure from Hahntennjoch to Imst and via the Fernpass-Reutte to Füssen back.

The road bike ride on the Hahntennjoch enchants with great landscape impressions and the best pass feeling. This tour should not be missed by experienced road cyclists on their Allgäu holiday, because it promises a lot of fun!
