The Little Allgäuer Lake Tour

The "Kleine Allgäuer Lake Tour" is an approx. 38 Kilometer long cycle round through the dreamlike Allgäuer Voralpenland, which leads past several picturesque lakes and beautiful viewpoints. Füssen holidaymakers can start the tour directly in the city area and should not forget the swimsuit in summer, because the waters along the route are of course wonderful for a pleasant cooling.

Juicy green meadows, magnificent mountains and a variety of picturesque waters – the Allgäuer Voralpenland lets the hearts of nature lovers and recreation seekers beat faster right away and is made for beautiful bike rides. The “Kleine Allgäuer Lake Tour” takes you through magnificent landscapes past some of the most beautiful waters of the Ostallgäu. Feet-vacationers can enter the wheel lap, which has a length of approx. 38 Kilometers and takes about three hours to board in the city belonging Faulenbacher valley. On warm days do not forget to pack the swimsuit in the Radrucksack to treat yourself in between a soothing cooling.

The parking at the mini golf course in Bad Faulenbach is a good starting point for this beautiful bike ride, which promises a lot of fun in summer. Take a bike here and drive through the idyllic Faulenbacher valley towards the Alatsee. On the way, the tour of the forest will take you past Lake Ober- and Mittersee, whose natural baths allow a first cooling on warm days. The Alatsee is a picturesque mountain lake surrounded by many regional myths, which has gained some supraregional fame as a location in a popular Allgäu crime thriller. Here you continue downhill to Weißensee, on whose shore it goes along to the district of Lake. Subsequently You within the magnificent pre-Alpine landscape through the dreamy hamlets Urbenthal, Hafenegg, Hopferried and Wiedemen to Lehern. Here you have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Sennerei Lehern, to learn a lot about the cheese production and to enjoy a delicious bread time with fresh cheese.

In the further course you cycle through the village Reinertshof and reach the hop lake a little later. The place hops is also called Riviera des Allgäus and has a dreamlike waterfront, which invites you to stroll on the view over the lake at Schloss Neuschwanstein and the Allgäu mountains. Stay on the shore road first on the left, and shortly afterwards turn right towards Rohrweiher/Hopferwald. You pass a parking lot and turn right to Pestfriedhof Hopfen. A little later you reach the Faulensee lying in the middle of the forest, on the shore of which a rustic hut invites you to strengthen with Allgäuer delicacies. Then it goes on to Rieden, where you cycle down to Forggensee. Accompanied by beautiful views of the largest Allgäu lake, follow the Forggensee circuit towards Schwangau. Via the Lech-Staustufe you get to the district Horn, where you can find the B17 cross and continue cycling to Alterschrofen. At the entrance, take the Bullachbergweg, which leads you past the Bullachberg Castle to Schwangau. From Schwangau it is now only a stone's throw to the starting point of this scenic tour.

The "Kleine Allgäuer Lake Tour" delights for about three hours with the most beautiful landscape impressions and is wonderfully suited to get to know the region on the bike.
