The summit hike to the 2059 Meter-high silt is a challenging mountain hike that requires good condition and safety. Your starting point and destination is the parking lot of the Vilser Alm in the small village of Vils in Tyrol. To get there, you drive from feet on the A7 towards Reutte / Tyrol. After the border tunnel, take the first exit and follow the signs in the direction of Vils / Pfronten. In Vils, shortly before the village exit, a path leads up to the parking lot of the Alm on the left. Alternatively, you can take the bus line from Füssener Bahnhof 74 Go to Vils. For this hiking tour, hiking shoes that go over the ankle and have a good profile sole are recommended. Who owns hiking sticks should also take them quietly. On the way there are two cozy huts, so you do not necessarily have to pack provisions. Something to drink is absolutely part of it. From the parking lot of the Vilser Alm it first goes up on a walkable, gently rising forest road to this cozy mountain hut, which is located at an altitude of 1226 metres. On the way you pass a very beautiful viewpoint, from which you can see the wild Alpstrudelfall well. After about 4 Kilometers and an hour walk you reach the Vilser Alm, which has a magnificent sun terrace, on which a first rest is possible. With a view of the fascinating Tyrolean mountains, you can taste coffee and cake, a bread time or a warm cottage dish here. The hike then continues until the end of the high valley, where the forest road goes into a climb. A soothing, pure air as well as the ubiquitous beautiful views over the picturesque landscape make this hike a pleasure. Over another high valley and an alpine meadow you reach in the further course of the tour a climb, which in many turns to the rocks below The Vilser Scharte leads. So that you do not get lost, you should of course pay attention to the signposts during the entire tour. The ascent to the Vilser Scharte takes place in places with wire rope fuses and ladders converted into stairs. This is where safety is required. On the Vilser Scharte you change to the south side of the Schlickemassiv, from where you can easily reach the summit.

On the 2059 Metre high Great silt awaits a dream view over the surrounding landscape with its valleys and magnificent mountains. From here you have a particularly good view of the wild north faces of the Tannheim Alps: the 2173 m high gym, which 2108 m high red flight, which 2238 m high peak and the 2164 m high peak. The Gehrenspitze and the Kellenspitze once ascended Queen Marie, the mother of the Neuschwanstein creator fairy tale king Ludwig II. On the occasion of the royal summit tour on the Kellenspitze this mountain had to abandon its so far little noble name “Metzenarsch”. After enjoying the magnificent view, the descent takes place towards the Musauer Alm. The path leads through a forest and you have to be attentive, as the route here is not so easy to follow. The Musauer Alm is continuously managed from about the beginning of June and it has a very beautiful sun terrace with a view of the Tannheimer Mountains. The alpine pasture is known for its homemade treats, such as apple and potted strudel, cakes or dumplings. From July, there are also homemade alpine butter, cheese and buttermilk. At the Musauer Alm and at other places along the valley descent you can kneep in the Sababach and enrich this charming mountain hike with a bit of wellness. From the Musauer Alm, the route continues to the Gasthaus Bärenfalle and finally to Roßschläg, from where it goes with the public transport line 74 return to Vils to the starting point of the hike.
