The GEO-BORDER

The boundary is an approx. 16 Kilometers long circular hiking trail that connects the forest experience centre Ziegelwies in Füssen with the municipality of Schwangau and the Tyrolean village Pinswang. Various adventure stations along the route provide exciting information about the geological features of the region and magnificent landscape impressions make the tour a hiking pleasure of the very finest.

The geopath GEOgrenzGÄNGER is a recently built circular path of approx. 16 Kilometers long, which informs about the interesting geological features of the area on the basis of experience stations. On the way, learn how the fascinating mountain landscape was created here over the course of millions of years and how people mined and used the different rocks. In addition, you can expect great landscape impressions and ubiquitous impressive views of mighty mountains. For the hike, which takes about five and a half hours, you should have a healthy condition. For families with children, the "Small GEOgrenzGÄNGER" is recommended, which is only approx. 6 kilometers long.

Füssen holidaymakers can start the hike on this exciting themed trail directly at the forest experience centre Ziegelwies, which is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the region with its themed trails and educational trails in the forest as well as the imposing treetop trail. Passing ore mines, the tour leads you to the beautiful Alpine lake in Schwangau, which invites you to a soothing cooling on warm days. After you have been informed about the geological features of the water, descend the fishwalk and continue on to the neighboring Swan Lake, which is located in the middle of a landscape reserve that also has very special geological features.
