Cross-country skiing is one of the most popular winter sports, as it is good for health due to the gentle strain of almost all muscle groups and is also a lot of fun. When cross-country skiing in the winter sports paradise Füssen you can wonderfully get to know the magnificent landscape and the sights of the region, because here you can expect an approx. 300 Kilometer long trail network with varied routes for beginners and experts. You do not have to buy the equipment for this fun and soothing winter sport; in and around Füssen you will find various ski rentals where you can rent them cheaply. In addition, courses are offered in the region during the winter months, where newcomers are taught cross-country skiing by competent ski instructors.

The approx. 3,9 Kilometer-long trail, which is suitable for the classic style and skating technology, leads from the sports facility Weidach in about half an hour to the Füssen boat harbour on the Forggensee. With its flat course, the tour is ideal for beginners to gain first experience on the ski boards. Along the way, you can expect great views over snowy meadows on the romantic old town of Füssen and the Allgäu mountains, which present themselves as majestic white guardians in winter. At the sports facility Weidach there are sufficient parking facilities available. If you want, you can also join the circuit at the boat port.

At the sports facility Weidach in Füssen awaits you about 500 Meter long circuit, which is ideally suited for the first cross-country attempts. If you feel safe enough on the ski boards, just follow the „F3“ Signposted trails to walk along snowy meadows and groves, and past the romantic old town of Füssen to the boat harbour on the Forggensee. The cold winter air and the grandiose views of the old town and the Alpine backdrop make the tour a feast for the senses. You can also see the snow-covered Königsschlosss Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau on this trail. The Forggensee, which is a reservoir and the largest lake in the Allgäu, is drained in winter and presents itself as a snow-capped expanse, behind which the impressive mountains rise. A real winter postcard setting!

At the Füssener Bootshafen you follow the signs and run a generous loop, then calmly return to the starting point. After the tour, it is advisable to stroll a bit through the narrow streets of the old town of Füssen, which is particularly dreamy and romantic in winter. In addition to medieval houses, historic churches and snacky shops, you will also find cozy cafes where you can strengthen yourself and warm up with coffee or tea.
