The 384 Kilometer-long watercourse route is one of the three main routes of the Allgäu travel trilogy. It has a slightly stronger claim than the light Wiesengänger route and leads along waterfalls, rivers and lakes across the beautiful Allgäu. Adventure walkers can have a lot of fun on this route and look forward to varied holiday impressions.

The traveling trilogy Allgäu is a 876 Kilometer long long hiking trail network that leads through the Allgäu at three altitudes. In contrast to many other long-distance hiking trails, there is no fixed starting and finishing point in the hiking trilogy. Instead, the hiking friends can flexibly assemble their tours, depending on their personal preferences and their own level of condition, from the three main routes, which are divided into various stages and linked by so-called trilogy leaders. The three main routes each stand for an altitude and have a different degree of difficulty. The Wiesengänger route leads on easy, flat paths through the pre-Alpine country, which Water-runner route along rivers, waterfalls and lakes has a medium demand and the Himmelsturmer route brings sporty ambitious hikers up into the magnificent Allgäu mountain nature. The traveling trilogy Allgäu was further divided into nine experience rooms and a total of 53 Stages, which can all be completed with average condition within one day. In the various experience and trilogy rooms there are portal, theme and stage locations, where there are symbols, special places and display boards, which teach the hikers a lot of interesting things about the nature, culture, geology and people of the respective region. The long-distance hiking in the long-distance trail network of the Allgäu hiking trilogy is even more varied and interesting due to the exciting stories in the individual experience rooms. Also in terms of service, the travel trilogy leaves nothing to be desired. The hiking friends can get their luggage from the Allgäu shuttle Take them from one stage to the next and rely on excellent signage on the way, which reliably shows them the way. In the following we would like to introduce the water stringer route of the hiking trilogy in more detail.

The hikers cross gorges on this route, climb up to the mountains and enjoy magnificent views of the pre-Alpine country from natural balconies. Always nearby: rivers, streams or clear mountain lakes, of which there are a large number in the Allgäu. The Water Runner Route has been 25 stages and has a medium claim.
