However, it is also highly recommended to hike the Reichenbachklamm from Breitenberg in Pfronten, a popular adventure mountain that offers wonderful views of the vast pre-Alpine landscape. The starting point of these 4 Hours long hike, which has a rather easy claim, is the valley station of the Breitenbergbahn at Pfronten, where sufficient parking is available.

The Breitenberg at Pfronten is a popular excursion mountain in every season, which is also called the “large sun terrace of mountain nature”. In the warmer months, the mountain is a paradise for hikers and recreation seekers and in the cold season it hosts a family ski area that delights with varied slopes and trails. The Breitenberg is accessed by the Breitenbergbahn, which operates in the hiking season from May to the end of October and chauffeurs its guests up to the mountain station near the summit. During the excursion to the Reichenbachklamm it is also first with the Breitenbergbahn to the mountain station, from which the summit in around 45 It can reach minutes. After climbing on the southern slope of the mountain, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking summit view of the magnificent Bavarian, Swiss and Tyrolean mountains, which can be enjoyed by the cozy terrace of the Ostlerhütte, which is located here and pampers its guests with delicious Allgäu delicacies. Afterwards we go back to the mountain station and from there in the direction of “Böser Tritt”. Over pastures and clear forests, the hike leads to below the steep rocks of Aggenstein. During a path branching, it continues in an easterly direction down the Plattenbach valley to the Reichenbachklamm. The trail leads to many small waterfalls and is best secured by stairs, rope attachments and iron railings. With its steep, moss-covered rocks, water cascades, water-filled gums and a large, rushing waterfall, the Reichenbachklamm is a real natural highlight that will delight every hiker. At the end of the gorge, there are play opportunities for children, while the adults can settle on resting benches and let the diverse landscape impressions affect themselves. In the direction of the Ostallgäuer Höhenweg it finally goes back to the valley station of the Breitenbergbahn.

If you prefer to explore the charming Reichenbachklamm directly from the valley station of the Breitenbergbahn, you simply pass the Bistro BBB and a small playground to a signpost that leads you to the gorge. On this route, experienced mountain hikers can also reach the summit of the 1986 Meter-high Aggensteins hike and from there enjoy a view of the pre-Alpine country to kneel down. Several paths lead to and through the Reichenbachklamm, but no matter which route you choose, this natural gorge impresses with its wild romantic character and guarantees a successful excursion.
