Füssen - Urig and idyllic

Füssen is a city in Bavaria, Germany, which can always welcome many tourists who want to explore the idyllic landscape every year. Füssen was originally called Foetes or Foetibus, which was derived from the Latin word Fauces and was called phung.

It has become known for its proximity to the Alps and the fact that it is the highest Bavarian city with 1200 meters above sea level and because from Füssen you can visit the nearby Neuschwanstein and Hochschwangau castles as well as the Wies Church. But even Füssen itself is an attraction, because this city is already over 700 Years old.

Just a little below the High Castle is the former Benedictine monastery of St. Mang, named after the patron of the city of Füssen. According to stories, his bones were 850 They were housed in the catacombs, but they only disappeared in mysterious ways. 250 Years later in the year 1100, except for a bone, which was then made a relic and attached to a glass cross above the altar. The monastery itself is kept in the style of the Baroque and has existed since the 9. century.
